New Pets
July 21st, 2003
Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while but, don't tell the building manager, I have new pets in my condo.
If you havn't tuned in yet, CBS is into the 4th season of Big Brother. I think I might be the only person I know, or possibly in the world, that has actually watched all 3 of the other seasons, and now I am alone in this season as well.
If you don't know anything about the show, here is the quick and dirty:
- Take 13 strangers stick them in a house.
- Don't give them any TV, Radio, Newspaper, Internet, or any other contact with the outside world.
- Make them compete for food.
- Record them on TV 24-7.
- Kick one of them off each week.
- Give the last one standing 1/2 a million bucks.
This year CBS decided to mix it up a bit by putting 8 strangers in the house, then bringing in 5 of their ex-boyfriends and girlfriends. This has provided for some extra drama and, I'm sure CBS is hoping, will attract a larger audience.
However, here is where an innocent TV show becomes an addiction. CBS has a live 24-7 internet video feed of the folks living in the house. You can watch them eat, play, sleep, and even… uh… go to the restroom. I have been tuned into these guys for the last couple days, and think I might have to start a 12 step program when the season is finally done. Last night when I was fix'n dinner I had the laptop in the kitchen with me while I made my scrumptious tacos. I woke up the other night cause I heard someone snoring, it turned out to be Jack, the older guy from the BB show, live on the computer in my room.
These guys are like my new pets.
Now to get a head start on those 12 steps… God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change…
